MICS Mental Health and Counseling Services is proudly supports Comfort Zone Camp (CZC) to help expand access to grief support for children, teens, young adults, and caregivers throughout New Jersey. CZC offers no-cost programs for families and creates a safe, nurturing space where grieving kids can connect with peers who understand what they’re going through.
Comfort Zone Camp serves children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, primary caregiver, or friend, and has supported 21,000+ children since 1999.

What makes Comfort Zone Camp different
Grief doesn’t follow a straight line, especially for kids. CZC blends “traditional camp fun” with real emotional support. Campers participate in activities like games, swimming, and arts & crafts, alongside Healing Circles led by mental health professionals. Many families describe kids returning home with stronger coping skills, a renewed sense of hope, and friendships that last well beyond camp.

Grief support doesn’t have to wait for camp
Camp can be a powerful milestone, but grief often shows up in everyday moments like at bedtime, school drop-off, holidays, quiet car rides. If you or your child could use steady support in between, MICS offers grief counseling and can meet with New Jersey clients through telehealth, making care more accessible for busy families or those farther from our office.
If you’re navigating a recent loss, complicated grief, or suicide loss, reach out to MICS to explore counseling options. We’re here to support you with compassion, practical tools, and a steady place to process what you’re carrying.
