Rebecca Cadigan Whitley, LPC
I hope to become a helper in your healing journey. My name is Rebecca Cadigan Whitley. I’m a licensed professional counselor (LPC) and I offer you a warm welcome. I earned my Master of Art’s degree at the Naropa University in 2001. There I learned how to work somatically, use experiential approaches, and assist clients in mindfulness to move towards deep and lasting health. I went on to train in Hakomi, body-centered psychotherapy and EMDR to further strengthen my knowledge base in mind/body, holistic techniques. I use mindfulness in session to work with what’s happening in the moment to increase a client’s awareness of unconscious material thus giving you the opportunity for transformative change to begin.
I’ve worked as an individual, group and family therapist as well as an in-community counselor and director of a children’s partial care program. I offer trauma informed care and was trained by the state of NJ to treat individuals impacted by sexual abuse. I have decades of experience working with both children and adults using EMDR for PTSD as well as other anxiety disorders. I see my relationships with clients as teammates. We work together to creatively solve problems. I see therapy as an exploration into self that can be painful at times but nourishing and well worth it. I can assist individuals and families in learning how to communicate more authentically with others. I offer room to take a look at the habits and patterns that find us getting less than we want out of life. I honor your bravery in visiting our website and hope you find the health and healing that you deserve!
In my life outside the office, I enjoy raising my teenage daughter. I practice yoga, attend concerts, tend to my garden and walk my dog in the woods.
I honor your bravery in visiting our website and hope you find the freedom and joy you deserve.
